Archive for December, 2013

Hey, you, all dreamers and gorgeous fairies stopping by,

I’m about to let this year go with great emotions and high hopes for the one that is rapidly approaching.

2013 was a FULL year for me. A year of learning, a year of challenge and a year of tests.

A hard year, but a marvelous one in all.

A year of extreme lows and highs, a turning point.

It taught me gratitude, patience, tolerance and made me realize the greatness and fragility of life.

It gave me the wonders of my baby girl’s first words, first tooth, first steps.

It made my heart melt to feel the joy of being called MOMMY by a little cricket’s voice.

It gave me her smiles, her giggles, her little dimples and her nose wrinkles when she laughs.

I think of 2014 with great emotion and I have a great feeling about it.

Feels like this will be a great year with lots of great adventures, discoveries, wonders and lots and lots of love.

I don’t know why I have this feeling, but I just see this year to come with great confidence

and can’t wait to see what it will bring!

My top resolutions for this year would be:

Spend as much time as possible with my little family.

Love, laugh, sing, dance, play, learn, create, teach, jump, travel, discover, wonder,

do silly things, giggle, cuddle, tickle…

Just enjoy life and each other’s presence.

Hope you have the time of your life this year and fulfill all your resolutions!

There is a part of me that loooves challenge. Creative challenges that is. I love to try new things new approaches, new techniques, combine and join, mix and try out new -and old materials.

My mind catches wings and I spend lots of nights (and days, and mornings…most of my waking time actually) imagining and planning designs when I find a new beading contest.

That’s what happened with the Coral Jewelry Contest posted in Loja pasionatilor de Margele group on Facebook.

https://www.facebook.com/events/160502350795688/?context=create

So ever since I found that contest I started to imagine what I would do with this theme. I had several designs in mind, I tried 3, but the first two were not working (at least with my current skills of crafting…who knows, maybe in the future I will use those designs and then they will work 🙂 )

This is what my mind imagined for this lovely theme.

When I think of coral, I think of the jewelry for kings and queens of old times, of pharaohs and goddesses.

I think of coral, lapis lazouli and silver, of massive and impressive jewelry. Of golden sphinx masks with rich green and red adornments.

So I thought why not make my own version of an ancient queen’s jewelry. Something old, something new… The old way, but with a new approach.  A long to the waistline necklace with green to gold shades(old with the new interpretation) supported by coral (the old) and bronze, aged accessories.

This is the collage I presented for the contest and below you will find the details of the set:

The bracelet: braided metal gun chain with green shades crochet beading rope and coral chain.

Necklace: Two interconnected crochet beading ropes with a mystic knot in the middle, coral supporting chain with dangles, and a halo of metal gun chain.

Earrings: green shades beaded crochet tube, bronze cone and coral.

Hope you like it and it brings a little bit of magic and mystery in your day.

Hugs and kisses!

Let’s  cheer up the day with a little bit of color, who knows, maybe we’ll convince the sun to show its face through the clouds 🙂

I know this color always gives me a little bit of extra energy and confidence.

A hot tea with orange blossom, dear friends to catch up and muffins. A warm comfy outfit, soft slippers and carols singing in the back… what more could you ask for?

1-DSC_8343-1This is a special delivery that just went flying to its gorgeous fairy.

She wanted a special color pallet of greens, liked the necklace and wished for a bracelet too.

So here it is:  URBAN GREEN set

(I thought since it is a special order and the first one for this collection, I should give a little help to Santa and send a little bit of extra joy to this special lady)

Happy Holidays,  dear Oana, hope you will wear them at least with the same joy and happiness that I made them for you!

Oh, and here’s a little glimpse of my new tags, thanks a lot to my dear friend Gabi – Invitatii Inedite

1-DSC_8354-1Cute right? Right! Elegant and feminine and with a little touch of vintage – that’s what I wished for and here it is!

Thanks Gabi! We both worked on the concept, but I am sure I could never get this result with anyone else but her!

And this is the back…

What it says? What it says…?

Well, that’s a secret between me and my gorgeous ladies!

See you soon!

It was such a sunny day today, so inspiring for what I have for you today: a scarf-like necklace for the cold days, that I donated for a Volunteering organization that helps children in social homes, SOS Vietile copiilor. Here is their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/DonezCumparSalvez.

This necklace is a little bit longer than those I posted before, and you can wear it as it is, or make a little bow-knot for a more interesting look. I will explain how to make it in the pictures below:

1-DSC_8437-1

1-DSC_8426-1

Make a loop in the middle of the necklace or on the side.
1-DSC_8430-1

Pass the top end of the loop underneath the other to form an &…of some sort 🙂1-DSC_8431-1

Treceti acelasi capat pe deasupra buclei si apoi prin ea, astfel incat capatul sa ajunga sub bucla.

Pass the same end on top of the loop and then through, so in the end it will be under the loop.1-DSC_8432-1

All you have to do now is to pull the ends.

Gata.

Wish you all a wonderful month and blessed Hollidays! And don’t forget to give. Start with a smile!

Moon river, wider than a mile
I’m crossin’ you in style some day
Old dream maker, you heartbreaker
Wherever you’re goin’, I’m goin’ your way

Two drifters, off to see the world
There’s such a lot of world to see
We’re after the same rainbow’s end, waitin’ ’round the bend
My huckleberry friend, Moon River, and me
